Job summary
We are looking for a Practice manager to work alongside our Business Manager to ensure the efficient running of the practice. You will lead on HR, Premises and CQC and will contribute to the strategic development of the practice.
Main duties of the job
HR - Recruitment, induction, training, supervision, appraisals. Monitoring annual leave and sick leave.
Premises - Establishing and implementing a rolling programme of premises improvements.
CQC - Reviewing and implementing policies and risk assessments.
About us
We are a two site practice with 10,000 patients. Our main site is in Broomhill and our branch in Lodge Moor.
We have 5 partners, 4 salaried GPs, 2 Nurses, 2 HCAs a Business Manager and teams of administrators, secretaries and receptionists.
We are in premises converted from houses and the premises can be challenging but we have an excellent, friendly team.
We are part of West 3 PCN along with The Crookes Practice and Selborne Road surgery.

We are looking for a proactive, organised and adaptable Practice/Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of our two busy GP surgery sites.
Working closely alongside our Business Manager, supporting one another across a wide range of responsibilities. The role has been designed to provide resilience within the management structure, allowing effective cross-cover during annual leave or sickness absence while ensuring both practice sites continue to operate smoothly.
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will play a key role in shaping the operational development of both practices, with the opportunity to contribute across multiple areas of the business, drive continuous improvement, and make a meaningful difference to the experience of both patients and staff.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
You should be educated to Degree level or hold a comparable Management/Professional Qualification.
Experience Essential
You must have experience or working in General Practice or Primary care and understand the requirements of the GMS contract. You need to have HR experience.
Desirable
You will need to be flexible, confident, proactive and able to prioritise a workload. We need a good team player who communicates effectively with colleagues in the practice and with commissioners. We are committed to being the best we can be within the limitations of the service, you should be passionate about General Practice.
