About this role

The Virtual Intervention Specialist provides individualized, standards-aligned academic and behavioral support to students with disabilities through a virtual instructional model. Working collaboratively with program staff, educational aides, related service providers, and families, the specialist delivers live one-on-one and small-group instruction to students in a physical classroom while working remotely. The specialist serves as an IEP case manager, monitors academic and behavioral progress, analyzes student data, implements evidence-based interventions, and adjusts instruction to meet individual student needs.

QUALIFICATIONS Required Qualifications Valid Ohio State Board of Education Intervention Specialist license: Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Intensive, or applicable licensure recognized by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement IEPs. Proficiency with technology and virtual instructional platforms. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with students with significant emotional/behavioral needs. Experience providing virtual special education instruction. Experience with online learning management systems and digital instructional tools. Experience using academic and behavioral data to inform instruction. ESSENTIALS FUNCTIONS Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned virtual lessons either one-on-one or in a small group; prepare daily lesson plans and instructional activities based on student IEP goals, academic needs, and behavioral needs Write, review, and implement IEPs, behavioral plans, and academic accommodations Monitor student progress and analyze performance data; adjust instruction and interventions as needed Collaborate with program staff and related service providers to support student success; collaborate with program staff to develop an appropriate, effective transdisciplinary approach to meet the individual needs of the students Maintain secure, accurate, and complete student records and documentation; prepare and submit all required reports Administer standardized achievement tests; evaluate, interpret, and apply results from standardized achievement tests; administer alternate assessments when appropriate. Participate in virtual meetings and occasionally travel on-site for mandatory state testing or school events Communicate daily with parents and/or guardians regarding academic and social growth. Demonstrate the ability to maintain an effective classroom management system, provide for special behavioral needs of individual students, and document/report all significant behavior Collaborate daily with the onsite educational aide to coordinate schedules, instructional activities, student support, classroom routines, data collection, and implementation of IEP and behavioral goals. Provide clear, timely direction to the educational aide regarding instructional accommodations, behavior supports, data collection, and student-specific procedures. Collect data to evaluate the effectiveness of the program and make recommendations to the Program Director for program improvements SALARY Based on salary schedule and/or commensurate with experience and education See attached job description for full position details.
