Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Process facility maintenance work requests by inputting tracking data into automated databases, verifying customer information, and routing packages for departmental approval; 2) Assist in compiling cost data and project scopes by conducting routine on-site physical surveys, taking measurements, and drafting basic facility sketches; 3) Inspect facilities for routine maintenance needs by identifying visible repair requirements, drafting status findings, and explaining standard work-order procedures to customers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07 or above). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
Major DutiesProvide customer service support and feedback for assigned customer organizations.Receive work requests and determine whether applicable for a work order, service order, or other support.Determine execution strategy of work order such as contract, or self-help.Present the work order request at the Work Request Review Board Meeting and take action on the work order request as determined.Process staffed work orders for approval and transmit execution package to DPW Engineering Division or other executing agency.Maintain all required project/work order documentation.Develop preliminary scope and cost estimates for assigned work orders.Prepare basic sketches or designs to facilitate staffing reviews of work orders.Conduct on-site surveys of installation facilities for investigative studies of the projects.Identify both short and long-range work requirements considering the present and future mission of the facility.Communicate with customers to capture actual requirements and to develop a sufficient and achievable project scope.Coordinate and execute special projects and studies assigned by management, applying both analytical and practical knowledge of engineering and construction skills.Develop and facilitate training for customers on work order submittal and execution.Assist customers in inspection of their facilities for proper sustainment, operation and improvements for mission requirements.Prepare written documents to present the findings or results of the project.
