Job SummaryThis position is located at Fort Riley, KS. Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee applicable to employees working at least 15 hours per week: First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Second and Subsequent Child:25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.
QualificationsResumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant. Must have active, current registration as a professional nurse (RN) in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to the above, applicants must have at least one of the following: 1. One year of specialized experience equivalent in scope and complexity to the next lower grade level 2. Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education or a master's or equivalent degree in the field of nursing. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": -Highly-qualified candidates will have experience in pediatric nursing and/or working with children/youth with special needs. -Possess one (1) year experience working in a group care setting.
Major DutiesServes as a nurse consultant responsible for all health support services. Applies professional knowledge and skill to support the health and well-being of children and youth.Assists in training of staff, providers, volunteers, and/or parents. Coordinates and provides specialized training to staff who support children or youth with complex health needs.Serves as a consultant for the Multi-Disciplinary Team to determine compliance with health-related CDC standards.Works closely with program directors in the implementation of health and fitness programs.Serves as the primary liaison between CYS Services and the installation Community Health Nurse. Communicates with trainers, Special Needs Director, Environmental Health, schools, and physicians to clarify roles in health support/services.
