Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: -Experience conducting surveys, evaluating customer needs, planning and implementing technical projects for the improvement and expansion of telecommunications systems. -Experience managing telecommunication programs, and to coordinate with personnel from various government and civilian agencies. -Experience utilizing telecommunications systems, alarm systems, modems, cabling, and various other communications equipment. -Experience coordinating all trouble-shooting and repair actions. This position is within the Work Category PROFESSIONAL at Work Level FULL PERFORMANCE, Series and Grade GG-0391-11. Major DutiesYou will serve as a Telecommunications Specialist in the BASE COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT (N5), BASE COMMUNICATIONS OFFICE (BCO) TELEPHONES (N5) of NAVAL COMPUTER AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS AREA MASTER STATION, PACIFIC DETACHMENT PUDGET SOUND.You will serve as Project Management and Technical Support to ensure uninterrupted telephone service and local and long distance network services are maintained for Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) activities and tenants.You will provide policy and direction for the operations, maintenance, and management of PSNS Base Telecommunication System.You will maintain liaison with contractors and the local exchange carrier, for the purpose of exchanging ideas on communications planning, system installation, scheduling priority of equipment repair, cable, maintenance, and new types of service.You will provide input and recommendations to the Technical Director on administrative telephone systems policy, administration, and technical matters.You will provide user training to PSNS Bremerton personnel regarding use of telephone system equipment and provide telephone communications support for ships and submarines in port PSNS Bremerton.You will process work requests for all moves, adds, and changes of telephone service within PSNS Bremerton.You will ensure contractors maintain and update equipment records, equipment, and service inventories.
