Job SummaryThis position is located at the Skeet Range - Fort Polk, Louisiana. Join our team at Fort Polk-home of the Joint Readiness Training Center. DFMWR integrates and delivers Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation programs and services enabling readiness and resilience for a globally-responsive Army. The advertised salary range reflects the full-time pay rate for this position. FLEX employees are paid hourly, and the annual salary will be adjusted based on the FLEX schedule.
QualificationsResumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess all of the following: Prior experience with firing range operations, skeet and trap and firearm safety, and firearms instruction. Must possess basic knowledge of National Skeet Shooting Association (NSSA) rules and scoring. Knowledge of and ability to use a computer and cash register. Possess good customer service skills and have experience working with the general public. Must be able to obtain current instructor-level certification in (at minimum) basic shotgun shooting, and range safety officer, from a recognized national governing body (e.g. NSSA, NRA, NSCA, NACFI, etc.) within 60 days of entrance on duty. Major DutiesExecutes range facility opening, closing and operating procedures in accordance with installation, local, and federal laws. Transports guns and ammunition to the range on a daily basis.Coordinates medical support through the installation range control agency. Instructs patrons on range safety practices and provides general fire arm and marksmanship information.Ensures proper handling storage, accountability, inventory of ammunition and firearms. Checks inventory and supplies and reorders supplies as needed.Issues ammunition and range related accessories to customers, checks ID, and collects fees. Performs cashier duties and maintains records of sales.Trains and assigns task to subordinate staff. Demonstrates techniques and instructs participants in the use of equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
