One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. To be hired at the GS-07 grade level: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-05 if applying at the GS-07 level) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience at the GS-07 level is defined as: Applying financial laws, regulations, principles, systems, policies, methods, and practices to perform reviews of disbursements for Commercial Pay. Providing routine technical guidance to managers, employees and/or customers; gathering data from financial systems; and researching financial policies and laws to resolve common financial issues related to Commercial Pay. To be hired at the GS-09 grade level, applicants must minimally have: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-07 if applying at the GS-09 level) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience at the GS-09 level is defined as: Applying financial laws, regulations, policies and procedures to perform random reviews of disbursements for Commercial Pay, to provide technical guidance to managers, employees and/or customers and resolve common financial issues related to Commercial Pay. Organizes, collects, analyzes and presents a variety of data, information, and statistics related to financial programs and projects based on reviews of assigned program accounts. You may qualify for consideration if meeting specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Major DutiesPerforms random reviews of disbursements for assigned programs such as Military Pay, Civilian Pay, Travel Pay, Retired and Annuitant Pay, and Commercial Pay.Organizes, collects, analyzes and presents a variety of data, information, and statistics related to financial programs and projects based on reviews of assigned program accounts.Analyzes and evaluates financial management systems, public laws, governing policies, guidelines, rules, regulations, and precedents.Identifies trends and works with office management to develop proper corrective actions.Researches and identifies problems, determines corrective actions as needed and recommends changes to procedures and practices.The duties, described above, represent the major duties performed at the GS-9 level. The duties performed for developmental positions will be of limited scope and complexity to develop skills, proficiency, and work experience.
