Job SummaryAbout the Position: The incumbent serves as the Director of Emergency Services at a large multi-mission military installation and as such, is the primary responsible manager for law enforcement and fire protection/prevention that encompasses a variety of sensitive and critical garrison wide programs directly affecting the life, health, and safety of all garrison employees, students, family members, retirees, and visitors.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing law enforcement, fire protection and physical security programs for an installation or equivalent; developing innovative techniques for providing law enforcement, fire protection, and physical security support to an installation or equivalent; providing guidance and advice to installation leadership on emergency services; and evaluating employee performance regularly to provide constructive feedback on daily tasks. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
Major DutiesCoordinate emergency response protocols with local civilian authorities to ensure seamless community integration during crisis events.Supervise subordinate emergency personnel during high-risk operations to maintain strict compliance with safety regulations.Manage the directorate operational budget carefully to prevent financial waste and secure essential resources for future missions.Inspect commercial and industrial facilities regularly to enforce fire prevention codes and eliminate hazardous workplace conditions.Formulate strategic garrison emergency plans proactively to address evolving threats and support global power projection platforms.
