We organize exhibitions, performances, events, and publications, and act as a springboard for the newest generation of makers. Since 1997, MaMA has held a unique position within the cultural ecosystem of Rotterdam and beyond, as a place where subcultures and countercultures are given a platform. Our mission is to be a creative platform that bridges the gap between emerging makers and the wider cultural field. We connect generations, disciplines, and worlds, both online and offline. MaMA currently receives structural funding from the Municipality of Rotterdam and the Mondriaan Fund. MaMA works in accordance with the principles of the Governance Code for Culture, the Fair Practice Code, and the Diversity & Inclusion Code. MaMA's board currently consists of six members. We are looking for a treasurer to strengthen the board. This is an unpaid position requiring an average commitment of approximately 6 hours per month. The board The board has delegated the implementation of MaMA's multi-year plans to the director but remains closely involved in the organization. The board primarily has an advisory role and acts as the director's employer. In addition to the chair and secretary, the board has four general members with a diverse range of backgrounds and expertise. The board meets 4 to 6 times a year. In addition, board members are actively involved with the organization based on their individual areas of expertise. As a MaMA board member, you contribute directly to the development of tomorrow's talent and to a cultural sector in which new voices are given space.
