*Responsibilities*
* Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery * Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues accurately * Conduct welding and fabrication tasks to repair or modify vehicle components as needed * Operate power tools and hand tools safely to disassemble, repair, or assemble parts in accordance with industry standards * Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed * Assist with heavy lifting using appropriate equipment to handle large components safely * Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations during all maintenance activities
*Experience*
* Proven mechanic experience with a focus on heavy-duty vehicles or industrial equipment * Dealership experience is highly desirable for familiarity with manufacturer standards and procedures * Hands-on experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, or other heavy machinery such as Caterpillar or similar brands * Strong electrical knowledge coupled with the ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams * Skilled in welding, fabrication, and the use of power tools for repairs and modifications * Knowledge of HVAC systems related to vehicle climate control is a plus * Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients or team members regarding repairs and maintenance needs
