Position Summary
The Well Site Drilling Engineer reports to the Drilling Super­vi­sor concerning his rig site activities. For Drilling Department requirements, he reports to the Drilling & Workover Team Lead.
The WSDE assists the Drilling Supervisor in the implementation of the drilling, completion, stimulation and test­ing programs.
The WSDE must bear a measure of responsibility for all aspects of the job. The Drilling Supervisor should delegate part of his responsi­bilities to the WSDE.
This position enables employee to obtain opera­tional experience prior to taking up the other positions in the com­pany such as Night Drilling Super­visor or Drilling Engineer.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
• With a strong commitment to HSE, participate in drilling, completion, stimulation and testing operations to execute them as per programs.
• Work closely with all the contractor's personnel to ensure an efficient operation.
• Ensure accurate and consistent well site reporting in line with company reporting instructions and ad hoc reports when­ever requested.
• Track costs for all the well operations.
• Monitor and support all phases of drilling and completion operations, ensuring compliance with company procedures, accurate reporting, and effective management of drilling fluids, casing, cementing, and well control activities. It also includes supporting directional drilling operations, reviewing survey data, monitoring well trajectory and interference, and assisting the Rig Supervisor and Well Engineering team to ensure safe, efficient, and technically sound well operations.
• Prepare reports and track lessons learned.
• Make recommendations to improve drilling operations.
• Ensure that manuals and procedures are at hand and updated on the rig.
Minimum Qualifications Required
• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline related to oil field.
• Competent with basic professional computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Good written, spoken communication and presentation skills are required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the oil and gas industry as a Wellsite Drilling Engineer Trainee.
