Reports to: Middle School & High School Principals School Year: 2026–2027 Monthly Salary: €1,385 (Gross) ACS Athens, a student-centered international school embracing American educational philosophy, principles, and values, is seeking a high-energy, versatile MS/HS Permanent Substitute Educator to join our vibrant secondary school community. This full-time role is ideal for an educator who is looking to obtain experience in the American educational school environment and the IB program and is passionate about empowering students across grades 6 through 12. Key Responsibilities
• Classroom Instruction & Coverage: Provide seamless daily classroom coverage across Middle School and High School disciplines, maintaining continuity of instruction and delivering lesson plans with academic rigor.
• Subject-Area Mentorship: Deliver specialized academic support and targeted instruction in English, Mathematics, or Science during flexible scheduling periods and study modules.
• Curriculum & Technology Integration: Effectively utilize educational technology, digital platforms, and innovative instructional strategies to maintain high student engagement and active learning.
• Student-Centered Environment: Cultivate a safe, inclusive, and culturally sensitive classroom climate that aligns with American educational values and respects our diverse international student body.
• Classroom & Behavior Management: Implement proactive classroom management strategies to foster academic integrity, respect, and emotional well-being among students.
• Professional Collaboration: Work closely with department chairs, counselors, and school administration to align on student needs, curriculum expectations, and daily operational priorities.
• Community Engagement: Participate in school-wide supervision duties, faculty meetings, and community initiatives as assigned by the Middle and High School Principals.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: Bachelor's Degree (BSc/BA) in core subject areas: English Literature/ESL, Mathematics, or Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) from an accredited University. (Master's degree or teaching credential preferred).
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience providing direct academic support to students at the middle or high school level (Grades 6–12), preferably within an international or American-curriculum setting.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in spoken and written English, with superior communication and interpersonal skills.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and interactive classroom technology.
