Job Title: IT Strategic Sourcing AnalystJob DescriptionThe IT Strategic Sourcing Analyst supports the full deal lifecycle for technology-related procurement, managing end-to-end sourcing activities for software and hardware. This role oversees the complete procurement process, including competitive bidding, contract and price negotiation, and strategic sourcing engagements. The analyst builds strong internal and external relationships, ensures fair business practices, and contributes to continuous improvement of procurement processes and tools. Responsibilities • Own a pipeline of low- and medium-complexity sourcing engagements under $500,000 within assigned IT categories, with the opportunity to support larger engagements based on demand and development. • Support Category Leads on high-complexity sourcing engagements and assist with requisition and purchase order creation. • Establish effective negotiation plans and guide internal stakeholders through the contracting process from initial requirements to final agreement. • Partner with Category Leads to develop and execute sourcing strategies, including competitive bids, evaluation agreements, supplier consolidation, and co-terming of contracts. • Collaborate effectively with other Category Teams, Supplier Management, Vendor Management Offices, Internal Clients, and Third-Party Risk Management as needed. • Engage with business requestors to understand their needs, translate requirements into clear competitive bid documentation, and align solutions with business goals beyond cost savings. • Own and manage the end-to-end competitive bidding process, ensuring timely execution and accurate documentation of sourcing activities. • Ensure the consistent application of fair business practices and standardized procurement of IT products and services. • Continually examine and recommend ways to raise standards and improve procurement processes, procedures, and overall performance of the enterprise sourcing function. • Support departmental process and technology initiatives, contributing to enhancements in tools, templates, and reporting. • Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned. • Maintain organized, detailed records for 5–10 concurrent engagements, including notes on negotiation history and deal evolution over time. • Communicate sourcing strategies, steps, and outcomes through clear, concise storytelling that explains decisions, actions, and results. • Actively listen to internal clients to understand their broader goals, including risk, quality, and business outcomes, not just cost savings. Essential Skills • 1 to 5 years of experience in indirect buying, procurement, or purchasing. • Minimum of 1 year of IT procurement experience, focused on software or hardware. • Demonstrated experience negotiating pricing and commercial terms with suppliers. • Strong knowledge of contract terms and conditions and the ability to interpret and apply contractual language. • Solid understanding of contractual terms, risk considerations, and standard procurement clauses. • Proven experience in internal and external relationship management in a procurement or sourcing context. • Hands-on experience with indirect procurement and strategic sourcing activities. • Proficiency in contract negotiation and indirect sourcing. • High level of organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage 5–10 engagements simultaneously. • Ability to maintain thorough notes, track negotiation progress, and discuss how deals evolve over time. • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain processes, steps, and actions in a concise and effective way. • Active listening skills to understand client goals beyond cost savings. • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Storytelling ability to clearly articulate sourcing strategies, negotiation approaches, and outcomes to stakeholders. • Potential sales or account management experience that supports negotiation and relationship-building skills. • Comfort working in a structured procurement environment with established processes and governance. • Ability to collaborate across multiple teams, including category management, supplier management, vendor management, and risk management. • Continuous improvement mindset, with an interest in refining procurement processes and technology. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate bids, compare options, and recommend optimal solutions. Work EnvironmentThis role operates in a hybrid work environment with on-site presence required on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position is within a large, established investment management organization known for its strong culture rooted in integrity and focus. Team members work with modern procurement tools and collaborate closely with sourcing, vendor management, and risk management functions. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Malvern, PA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
