Job Title: Plumber ApprenticeJob DescriptionThis role offers an opportunity to develop hands-on plumbing experience by assisting with the assembly, installation, and maintenance of plumbing and drainage systems in residential or commercial units. The Plumber Apprentice supports experienced plumbers with installing new equipment and systems, performing repairs on existing units, and brazing large copper pipes while following safety standards and plumbing codes. Responsibilities • Assist in assembling and installing plumbing lines in units under the guidance of experienced plumbers. • Install new plumbing equipment, systems, and related drainage components according to specifications and codes. • Support repairs and maintenance on existing plumbing systems and units as needed. • Perform brazing on large copper pipes ranging from 4 to 6 inches in diameter, ensuring secure and leak-free joints. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand plumbing layouts and installation requirements. • Follow plumbing codes, safety regulations, and best practices during all installation and repair activities. • Use appropriate tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE) safely and correctly. • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule. • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding project status, issues, and required materials. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company standards. Essential Skills • High school diploma or equivalent. • 1+ years of experience in plumbing, or completion of relevant vocational or technical training. • Knowledge of plumbing codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. • Experience with brazing large copper pipes (4–6 inches) or strong willingness to learn under supervision. • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving plumbing issues. • Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. • Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds as part of daily tasks. • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch as required to complete installations and repairs. • Ability to climb portable ladders safely and work at varying heights. • Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination for handling tools, components, and precise brazing work. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Vocational or technical training related to plumbing or electrical systems is preferred. • Familiarity with reading and working from plumbing blueprints and schematics. • Previous experience in a manufacturing or construction environment is an asset. • Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and attention to detail. • Comfort using personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety protocols. • Interest in learning advanced technologies and working within a modern, industry 4.0 environment. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a modern, state-of-the-art, air-conditioned manufacturing facility that incorporates industry 4.0 technology. The work involves physical activity, including lifting and moving up to 35 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods, and performing tasks that require stooping, kneeling, or crouching. You may need to climb portable ladders and work at various heights. The position requires good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination to handle tools, equipment, and large copper pipes safely and precisely. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and provided, and safety protocols are an integral part of daily operations. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gilbert, AZ. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
