About this role

Job Title: Test TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Test Technician performs high-potential (Hi-Pot) and electrical testing to verify insulation integrity and product quality in a manufacturing environment. This role sets up and operates electrical test equipment, conducts inspections at various stages of production, and ensures all products meet established quality and safety standards. The Test Technician documents results, supports continuous improvement of testing processes, and collaborates closely with production, engineering, and quality teams. Responsibilities • Perform Hi-Pot testing to verify electrical insulation integrity and ensure products meet safety and performance requirements. • Set up, operate, and maintain electrical testing and measurement equipment in accordance with established procedures. • Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections, including visual, dimensional, and functional checks. • Analyze test and inspection results, document findings, and report discrepancies in a clear and timely manner. • Troubleshoot electrical components and systems to identify faults and support corrective actions. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, work instructions, and technical drawings to perform accurate testing and inspections. • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, safety regulations, and internal quality procedures during all testing and inspection activities. • Record inspection data and maintain accurate, organized quality documentation and test records. • Communicate effectively with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues and support continuous improvement. • Follow established procedures when nonconformances are identified, including proper documentation and escalation. • Assist in developing and improving testing and inspection protocols to enhance efficiency, reliability, and quality. Essential Skills • Minimum 2+ years of experience in Hi-Pot testing or electrical testing in a manufacturing environment. • At least 2+ years of quality inspection experience. • Strong knowledge of electrical safety protocols and insulation testing principles. • Proficiency with electrical testing and measurement equipment. • Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications. • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as part of daily tasks. • Ability to stand for extended periods during testing and inspection activities. • Ability to perform repetitive hand movements required for handling components and equipment. • Troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving issues with electrical components and systems. • Mechanical aptitude to support testing, inspection, and equipment setup. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working within ISO-regulated environments or similar quality management systems. • Familiarity with structured quality control processes in a manufacturing setting. • Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting results and collaborating with cross-functional teams. • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures. • Comfort working with both mechanical and electrical components in a production environment. Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a manufacturing facility with 8-hour shifts, including a morning shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Overtime may be required on weekdays and Saturdays, depending on production needs. The work involves regular use of electrical testing and measurement equipment, as well as interaction with production, engineering, and quality teams on the shop floor. The position requires standing for extended periods, performing repetitive hand movements, and lifting up to 50 pounds while handling components and equipment in a structured, safety-conscious environment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Jose, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
