Salary: £56,000 - 96,000 per year

Requirements: We require systems engineering experience with hands-on expertise in enterprise storage array administration, backup and recovery solutions, automation, and hybrid cloud infrastructure.We require a BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.We require experience with enterprise storage administration and optimization, including Dell Unity, PowerStore, PowerScale, or equivalent block, file, and scale-out NAS platforms.We require experience with backup, recovery, and data protection platforms such as Dell Avamar, Commvault, and cloud-native backup/recovery services, including restore validation.We require automation, scripting, and infrastructure-as-code experience with Bash, Python, Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent tools.We require experience with public cloud storage and hybrid cloud architectures, including Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.We require knowledge of immutable storage, WORM policies, object lock, and ransomware-resilient data protection architectures.We require experience with Fiber Channel SAN infrastructure, including cabling standards, zoning, multipathing, fabric management, and connectivity troubleshooting.We require experience in systems and storage architecture design, solution development, and strategic technology roadmapping for on-premises and hybrid cloud environments.We require financial and vendor management experience, including CapEx/OpEx budgeting, forecasting, TCO analysis, RFP/RFI processes, and contract negotiation.We require strong technical writing and documentation skills, including architecture diagrams, configuration baselines, SOPs, runbooks, DR plans, and knowledge management.We require team development and enablement experience, including mentoring, training program development, and knowledge transfer.We require multi-platform systems engineering experience across Linux, UNIX variants, Windows Server, virtualization, containers, and software-defined infrastructure.We require experience with advanced monitoring, observability, alerting, logging, and problem management tools, plus root-cause analysis and performance tuning.We require knowledge of IT Service Management, ITIL, change/incident/problem management processes, and IT governance/compliance frameworks.We require strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills across technical and business audiences. Responsibilities: We provide strategic input to project plans, schedules, and operational methodologies for enterprise storage, backup/recovery, and hybrid cloud environments.We monitor system management alerts and respond promptly to storage, backup, infrastructure, and data protection exceptions.We diagnose complex system, storage performance, and data protection problems using logs, traces, performance metrics, and diagnostic tools.We manage and administer enterprise storage arrays, including provisioning, volume/LUN management, replication, snapshots, tiering, and capacity planning.We manage and administer enterprise backup and recovery solutions, including policy design, job scheduling, monitoring, reporting, and restore testing.We manage and administer Brocade Fiber Channel switches, including support for data migrations and SANNav software.We design, implement, and manage cloud storage and backup solutions on Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.We develop, maintain, and optimize automation scripts, workflows, and infrastructure-as-code solutions using Bash, Python, Terraform, and related tools.We implement and manage immutable storage technologies, WORM configurations, and object-lock policies.We perform fiber channel infrastructure administration, including zoning, LUN masking, multipathing, and SAN fabric troubleshooting.We lead or contribute to architectural design, solutioning, and long-term roadmap development for storage, data protection, backup, and hybrid cloud infrastructure.We provide strategic vision and recommendations to identify opportunities for technology adoption, process automation, risk reduction, and continuous improvement.We manage CapEx and OpEx for storage, backup, and related infrastructure projects, including budgeting, forecasting, vendor negotiations, and TCO analysis.We create, maintain, and govern technical documentation such as architecture diagrams, configuration standards, SOPs, runbooks, disaster recovery plans, and knowledge base articles.We mentor, coach, and train team members through knowledge transfer, documentation, hands-on labs, and workshops.We install, configure, patch, troubleshoot, and optimize system components, storage software, backup agents, cloud connectors, and related products across Linux, UNIX, and Windows environments.We develop, review, and optimize scripts, job controls, orchestration workflows, and automation for data movement, backup/recovery jobs, system maintenance, and operational tasks.We collaborate with application development, network, security, cloud, and vendor teams to coordinate changes, integrations, migrations, and issue resolution.We ensure adherence to change management, incident, problem, and request processes, including creation, impact assessment, documentation, approval, execution, testing, and closure.We demonstrate deep understanding of storage systems, backup technologies, cloud platforms, operating system internals, Windows infrastructure, virtualization, and performance optimization principles.We perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and objectives of the data management team and enterprise infrastructure operations. Our Data Management Team owns the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide storage and data protection capabilities, including on-premises and colocation storage arrays, enterprise backup and recovery, fiber channel SAN infrastructure, and hybrid cloud services across AWS and Azure. This role is based in Alpharetta, GA or Surrey, and is full time. We offer country-specific benefits, an annual incentive bonus, and a U.S. national base pay range of $95,300 to $158,800, with geographic differentials in some locations.
