Salary: £48,000 - 68,000 per year
Requirements: We require 8+ years of software engineering experience.We require strong Java fundamentals, with Java 21 preferred, including collections, concurrency, and memory management.We require solid experience with Spring Framework (Spring 4+) and Spring Boot 3.x.We require experience building and consuming REST APIs.We require good knowledge of React 17 and integration with backend services.We require a strong understanding of web application architecture and client-server communication.We require experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.We require proficiency with Git and build tools such as Maven or Gradle.We require a strong focus on clean code, unit testing, and code reviews.We require familiarity with Agile development practices.We require comfort working in Linux/Unix environments.We prefer experience with trading platforms, or broader financial services systems experience.We prefer a BS/MS in Computer Science or an equivalent software engineering qualification.We require English at C1 Advanced level. Responsibilities: We contribute to the design, development, and implementation of backend services and web applications.We write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following established engineering practices.We participate in technical design discussions and collaborate with senior engineers and architects.We work closely with frontend developers to integrate backend services with UI components.We support troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization of applications.We break down user stories into technical tasks and deliver within agreed timelines.We collaborate effectively in Agile teams with product owners, QA, and other developers.We maintain and improve existing systems while ensuring stability and reliability.We build positive relationships within the team and contribute to a collaborative environment.We communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.We continuously develop our technical expertise and stay up to date with modern technologies and frameworks.
