Salary: £63,000 - 103,000 per year
Requirements: We need 8–12 years of experience in data architecture, engineering, or consulting, including at least 4+ years in modern big data solution architecture.We need demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing modern big data architectures for large enterprises.We need strong consulting values and the ability to engage effectively with senior client stakeholders.We need hands-on experience across the data lifecycle, including ingestion, storage, transformation, governance, analytics, and consumption.We need a deep understanding of data product strategies, Data Mesh, and Data Fabric concepts.We need the ability to align data strategies with business objectives and drive measurable value.We need excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.We need proven experience leading data modernisation initiatives across multiple sectors.We need proficiency with Apache Spark, Kafka, Confluent, Databricks, and Unity Catalog.We need strong knowledge of cloud ecosystems such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, as well as infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.We need hands-on expertise with data lake and lakehouse architectures and modern streaming solutions.We need experience with SQL, NoSQL, ETL/ELT pipelines, and programming languages including Python, R, and Java.We need familiarity with BI, data visualisation, and DevOps principles.We need a strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.We need exposure to machine learning and AI integration within modern data platforms.We require a university degree.A BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field is preferred.Relevant certifications in Databricks, Kafka, or cloud platforms are highly desirable. Responsibilities: We engage with clients to understand their needs and support delivery.We design and implement modern big data solutions.We lead modernisation and transformation initiatives.We provide thought leadership and share knowledge.We collaborate with and lead across client and internal teams.We work with client partners, practice leaders, and peer-level stakeholders up to Head of Data Engineering, Chief Data Architect, CIO, and CDO level.We define modern big data strategies and design cloud-native architectures.We guide clients through their data modernisation journeys.We help build and deliver scalable, reliable, and business-aligned data platforms.We contribute to practice growth through assets, accelerators, and thought leadership.
