About this role

Salary: £30,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements: 3-5 years of experience in Data Center Services, including managing servers, storage, backup, and network devices Responsibilities: Provide Smart Hands support at the data center site, including 24/7 emergency high-touch requestsManage the on-site operations of colocation data centers, contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors in line with established practices, procedures, and local legislationArrange periodic and ad hoc servicing, repairs, and preventive maintenance schedulesPerform physical electrical and mechanical maintenance interventionsReact to alarms, including BMS or plant-type alarmsRespond to reports of environmental conditions being out of boundsAdd, change, and remove devices, including ILO, remote managed power, and asset trackingManage and maintain the DC inventory and DCIM toolPerform break-fix support for IT equipment in the data centerCarry out cable mining and inspection, device labeling, cable tracking, and troubleshootingSupport capacity management, including monitoring, remediation, planning, and maintenanceManage DC compliance controls, including testing, documentation, execution tracking, evidence repositories, matrices, and SOX compliance processesManage DC visitor access processes and recordsDecommission IT equipmentMonitor environmental infrastructure alerts for the data center facilityMaintain DC floor space, including housekeeping, dust removal, vacuuming, subfloor cleaning, and combustible walkthroughsCoordinate infrastructure changes with providers, including scheduling, CRQ, and executionAudit and validate the IT container environment to ensure it meets infrastructure requirements and data center standards such as capacity, temperature, humidity, and air conditioningMaintain intelligent PDUs, including firmware upgradesDefine inventory requirements for patch cords, power cables, and consumables such as label tags, cable ties, label tape, and hook-loop tiesMonitor and report on alarms, fire, mechanical, capacity, and environmental conditions such as humidity and temperaturePerform OE assessments and correctionsCarry out physical server installation operations, including racking, network patching, power, and remote managementManage SAN fiber, SOP, JSA, BCP, and emergency response documented proceduresGenerate change management requests and incident management tickets for the data center facilityManage infrastructure and inventory asset administration for the data centerReview colocation data center contract compliance and ensure SLAs are achievedAct as the business interface with colocation data center management for day-to-day operational requirementsWork with colocation data center management to resolve infrastructure engineering issues Technologies: AICloudFirmwareIncident ManagementSupportNetworkReactMatrixSpark More:
