Job Description Summary • The vision of the SVO- New Products team is to create robust but cost-effective wind turbine product designs by providing best-in-class system value optimization, load assessment, validation, methods, and tools.
• As a SVO engineer, you will perform system value optimization work, deliver loads and cosims, prepare certification documentation, support method/standard work development, and develop the loads toolchain.
Job Description Essential Responsibilities
• Perform system value optimization • Help perform system value optimization work, making tradeoffs in the loads, stability, operation, and performance of the product • Help perform feasibility studies and develop tech charts
• Deliver NPI/DTO loads • Prepare loads inputs, create the simulation model, execute loads simulations, and perform post processing • Perform basic operability checks and frequency domain stability checks • Hand off model and controller parameters to MLA • Update load envelopes
• Prepare load certification docs • Prepare certification load packages and documentation • Help address questions from certification bodies
• Deliver cosims • Prepare co-simulation for validation activities for prototype and fleet leader validation • Help resolve gaps seen between simulations and field measurement.
• Develop methods and standard work • Help develop advancements in load methods • Help develop DP and standard work updates
• Develop loads tool chain • Help develop improvements to the pre and post processing toolchain (excludes One Wind tools)
• Overarching • Help prepare design reviews • Help prepare technical underwriting documents to support design reviews • Help assess risk and develop mitigation strategies • Help update loads DFMEA • Support lean and industrialization initiatives
Qualification/Requirements
• B.S. in Mechanical, Wind, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering from accredited university (or equivalent)

• Technical awareness about preparing loads for wind turbines • Problem solving skills for complex problems • Software development skills • Strong oral and written communication skills, clarity of thought, and ability to defend a technical position • Master of Mechanical, Wind, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering • GE Renewable Energy Edison Engineer • Completion of Corporate required training for the Edison Engineering Development Program • Strong candidate identified
