Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and forward thinking Administrator within our Integrated Therapies administrative team. You will be working within our Dietetics team. You will be required to work on your own initiative to ensure the smooth running of the administrative functions of the Department.
You will have good communication skills, ability to work well in a team and excellent attention to detail and accuracy. You must have an excellent telephone manner, as you will be speaking to patients and their families on a daily basis. You will also need to be able to plan and prioritise effectively, work within defined deadlines and have the ability to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service.

Main duties of the job
Acting as the first point of contact for patients, carers, clinicians and external agencies, responding to telephone, email and face-to-face enquiries in a professional and compassionate manner.
Managing patient appointments using Epic, including booking, cancelling, rescheduling and maintaining clinic utilisation.
Coordinating patient pathways from referral through to discharge, ensuring actions are completed accurately and within agreed timescales. Monitoring referrals, work queues and electronic tasks, escalating issues where appropriate.
Supporting clinicians with the maintenance of electronic patient records and administrative aspects of patient care.
Producing correspondence, clinic letters, reports and other documentation using Microsoft Office and Trust systems

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
GCSE grade 5/C or equivalent in English and Maths NVQ level 3 in administration/secretarial or equivalent experience
Experience Essential
Previous administrative role Working collaboratively as part of a team Advanced IT Systems including - Microsoft Office Experience of communicating with a range of people both within and external to the organisation
Desirable
NHS Experience Experience within relevant work area Experience of working with members of the public Supervision/co-ordination of other team members
