Job summary
We are seeking a Community Child Health and Child Neurodevelopmental paediatric consultant to join our dynamic and friendly department at the Cheyne child development service.
This post is for a Community paediatrician especially with interest in Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Social Communication Disorders and Social Paediatrics. The successful applicant will join our team in providing excellent care to our local children and their families.
This post is for 7 PA, to start as soon as possible.
Candidates are expected to be on the GMC specialist Register in paediatrics with CCT/CCST in Community Paediatrics, or to be UK specialist trainees within 6 months of CCT/CCST/CESR at date of interview.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a paediatrician trained to consultant level in all aspects of community paediatrics. The post holder:
o Will provide consultant paediatric input for social communication assessments in the preschool social communication pathway and the school age social communication pathwayo Will provide consultant paediatric input for neurodevelopmental clinics within a multidisciplinary teamo Will provide consultant paediatric input for ADHD clinics both in terms and assessment and in terms of management.o Will contribute to and support the clinical governance programme of the Trusto Will contribute to the undergraduate medical teaching programmeo Individual posts will also include specified roles from the Departmental job plan, to be discussed at interview.

West London Children's Healthcare was formed on 1st April 2022 bringing paediatric services at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT) and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (CWFT) under a single leadership structure accountable to both Trust Boards for all elements of operational, quality, safety and financial performance. WLCH runs services from Chelsea & Westminster Hospital; Hammersmith Hospital; St Mary's Hospital and West Middlesex Hospital. In addition, two child development services operate from the Cheyne Centre and Woodfield Road. WLCH also partners closely with The Centre for Paediatrics and Child Health at Imperial College London (PaeCH) to ensure that care is research driven, with a specific focus on the common diseases of childhood. Person Specification
Education and Qualifications Essential
MBBS or equivalent MRCPCH or equivalent On GMC's specialist Register in paediatrics, CCT/CCST in Community Paediatric medicine or a UK specialist trainee within 6 months of CCT/CCST on interview date Full GMC registration with license to practice ortfolio Pathway (formerly CESR) applicants must be on the Specialist Register at the point of application. Evidence of participation in clinical audit/QI project, understanding the role of these in improving the medical practice Ability to teach clinical skills to meet the requirements of undergraduate students, doctors in training and nursing staff. Experience of training in different sessions.
Desirable
Completion or evidence of working towards a higher academic degree (MD/PhD). CCT or equivalent in subspeciality of Community Child Health. DCH, DCCH, MBA or other relevant diplomas Formal teaching qualification
Experience Essential
Wide experience in Community Paediatrics Specialist Training including Social communication assessments, neurodisability and child protection. Level 3 Safeguarding Training Experience of teaching to meet the requirements of junior doctors and nurses Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients Able to demonstrate having achieved the competencies equivalent to the Highest Specialist Paediatric Training Valid BLS Training Autism Diagnostic interview or 3DI qualification and experience
Desirable
Skills and training in a sub specialty which could benefit the department e.g. Griffiths developmental assessment qualification and experience Wider experience, research, and training, in providing subspecialty service (if applicable) Valid APLS and NLS
