Priory Hospital Barnt Green has an opportunity for a Registered Mental Health Nurse with an active NMC Registration to join our team on our NHS Acute Ward. Staff Nurse would be required to cover the PICU and Private Ward where shifts are required. (Overtime) 37.5 Hours Fully Rotational Days and Nights
This role is not open to preceptor nurses.
Main duties of the job
The role involves delivering prescribed, person-centred nursing care while assessing, planning and reviewing care in partnership with patients and their families. It requires accurately observing and engaging with patients, responding to changes in their condition, addressing concerns and complaints, and working effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include prioritising and delegating duties, acting as nurse in charge when required, maintaining a safe environment, attending clinical and non-clinical meetings, and maintaining strong professional relationships. The role also involves ongoing professional development, clinical supervision and reflective practice, supporting newly qualified staff as a preceptor, and ensuring compliance with safeguarding requirements, the Mental Health and Mental Capacity Acts, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, Medicines Management policies, Priory Group policies and the NMC Code.

Priory Hospital Barnt Green, Barnt Green, Birmingham is a purpose-built hospital providing mental health support for adults and young people, including specialist therapy and psychiatry, as well as private autism assessments for adults. It is accessible by public transport, with Barnt Green railway station approximately 12 miles from the hospital and local bus routes serving the surrounding area. Due to the semi-rural location of the service, access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended.

Requirements Essential
Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN), with 6-12 months post registration experience with active NMC Registration and completed preceptorship programme Experience within Acute and PICU
