About this role

Sydney Health & Care Services (SHCS) is growing across Greater Sydney. We're looking for reliable Community Support Workers who can support participants living with mental health challenges — including complex behaviours, dementia and dual diagnosis (drug & alcohol).

Casual shifts available:

(Female workers ONLY)

Location: Bradbury

Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday: 10am - 2pm

Requires experience in: AOD support, mental health, brain injury, and personal care.

(Female workers ONLY)

Location: Penrith

Thursday: 10am - 3pm

Requires experience in mental health

(Female or Male workers)

Location: Chipping Norton

Monday and Wednesday: 11am - 1pm

Requires experience with dementia

Key Responsibilities of this role:

• Experience supporting people with complex needs, ABI, dementia, and/or mental health

• Supervision and prompting of medication administration

• Strong emotional regulation and calm communication style

• Use validation, reassurance, and redirection during distress

• Respect choice and control, including refusal of support

• Follow Behaviour Support Plans and safety protocols

• Personal care and manual handling when necessary

• Assistance with hygiene, cleaning, and bedding

• Maintain accurate, objective documentation

What you bring:

• A reliable car with comprehensive insurance (mandatory), full unrestricted Australian driver's licence, and willingness to travel across Sydney

• Proven reliability, professionalism, and excellent communication

• Minimum 6 months experience in mental health, disability support, or community services (or Certificate IV in Mental Health)

• Calm under pressure; strong judgment and boundaries

• Smartphone literacy for rostering and documentation

Must-have compliance (or willing to obtain):

• NDIS Worker Screening Check

• Working With Children Check (NSW)

• First Aid & CPR

• Police Check

• Unrestricted work rights in Australia

• Preferred: Certificate III/IV in Community Services, Mental Health, or related field (or equivalent experience)
