ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a Production Supervisor to drive operational performance by resolving technical defects, addressing process-related issues and leading Shop Floor Management activities to support quality and production targets. The role will lead and manage the operations team to achieve safety, quality, volume and cost objectives. This position is based in Final Assemlby - Production (Kariega) KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead, manage and coach Group Leaders to ensure a focused, capable and aligned team. Manage employee absence, workforce availability and shift resources to support uninterrupted production Identify and resolve barriers that may impact employee performance, productivity and process effectiveness. Communicate expectations, performance results and improvement actions against operational targets Maintain safety, housekeeping VDA 6.1 and ISO 14001 compliance within the area of responsibility Ensure employees have the required tools, resources and efficient processes to perform effectively. Manage shift operations to achieve Quality, Volume, Safety, Cost and People KPI targets. Facilitate daily Shop Floor Management meetings, shift handovers and action tracking Control and reduce scrap, rework, recurring defects and operational losses through corrective actions. REQUIREMENTS Minimum Qualifications: National Diploma or Degree Production; Operations management and Engineering (Mechanical. Mechatronics, Electrical or Industrial). Work Experience: Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in a production or manufacturing environment. Minimum 3-5 years leadership experience Assembly experience would serve as an added advantage Technical & Behavioral Competencies: Strong leadership ability to manage, motivate and influence employees across organisational levels and functions. Ability to coordinate and optimize team performance to achieve operational objectives. Sound decision-making capability in a dynamic production environment. Knowledge of Volkswagen production processes and systems to identify improvement opportunities and address operational challenges would serve as an added advantage Strong analytical, problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
