About this role

📍 Lyon, France | Corporate Function – Innovation 🧭 Welcome to the Team Within the Group Technical Department, you will contribute to the development, deployment and continuous improvement of Nexans’ Life Cycle Assessment, Product Environmental Profile (PEP) and ecodesign activities. You will act as a technical referent for LCA/PEP methodologies, environmental data management and related tools, supporting Nexans units worldwide in assessing, communicating and reducing the environmental footprint of products. In this role, you will interact with factory teams, product managers, engineers at the Nexans R&D Center, QHSE, purchasing, marketing and sales networks. 🎯 How You Make an Impact As part of your missions, you will be responsible for: Continuously improving Nexans’ technical methodology for LCA and PEP, in line with applicable standards, programme operator rules, regulatory evolutions and customer expectations. Performing LCA simulations and detailed. Managing and updating Nexans’ environmental databases, including raw material data, site-specific data, process documentation and software updates shared with Nexans units. Supporting sites in the development, verification and registration of PEPs, while maintaining the reliability of the PEP library and associated environmental impact data. Training plant teams and LCA/PEP contacts on the latest methodologies, tools and documentation, and contributing to the continuous improvement of training materials. Defining, prioritizing and following up improvements to PEP automation tools, in coordination with Sustainable Development, LCA and IT teams, including testing of new functionalities with pilot units. Updating and deploying Nexans’ Design-for-Environment methodology, launching and following up ecodesign projects, and supporting trained units and technical teams in applying ecodesign practices. Location: position based in Lyon Duration: Permanent Contract (CDI) 🧩 Your Starting Points You hold an engineering degree or a Master’s degree in materials science, chemistry, environmental science or a related field, ideally complemented by a specialization in ecodesign, environmental management or life cycle assessment. You have at least 5 years of experience in LCA and EPD/PEP development, gained within an industrial company, consultancy or programme operator environment. You are familiar with LCA and ecodesign methodologies and are able to use LCA software and environmental assessment tools with autonomy. Knowledge of PEP/EPD regulatory frameworks, product category rules and applicable standards such as EN 15804+A2, IEC 63366 and PEP ecopassport rules would be a strong asset. You have the following qualities: - Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork spirit and enthusiasm - Rigour, organization, autonomy and ability to take initiative - Analytical mindset and strong synthesis capabilities - Clear written communication skills and ease in oral communication - Fluency in English, both written and spoken
