This is why we encourage diversity in our recruitment – Bring yours to Nexans, it is welcome! #PowerToInnovate #PowerToImpact #PowerToCare PRIMARY FUNCTION: Improve quality processes and testing as they apply to the production and quality of wire and cable products to ensure the highest quality at a competitive cost Gather, manipulate and use technical data and analysis to identify and resolve quality issues AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for performing laboratory testing and quality control activities to ensure raw materials, in-process products, and finished products meet established quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Performs laboratory (dimensional, physical, mechanical) testing of cable products in accordance with CSA, UL standards and customer specifications. Prepares and issue Certified Test Reports (CTR) based on customer requirements. Identify and report out-of- specification or quality abnormalities test results to QA management. Conduct in-process inspections, spot checks and finished-product audits and provides timely feedback to Production. Analyze laboratory test results, weight-audit, and product statistical data to monitor product quality performance and trends. Support product development and trial runs through scheduled testing and timely feedback to Production, PVC, and Engineering teams. Inspect incoming materials and approve release or initiate NCMRs for non-conforming materials. Support NCMR disposition, corrective actions, and close-out activities. Develop quality standards, SOPs, work instructions, and test methods based on CSA/UL standards and customer specifications. Prepare Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) in accordance with applicable standards (CSA, UL) and customer requirements. Perform testing during customer witness inspections and CSA/UL surveillance audits. Lead root-cause analysis (RCA) using statistical tools and recommend corrective actions to reduce defects. Investigate customer complaints and supplier quality issues and recommend corrective actions. Implement product containment for quality issues and customer complaints. Maintain laboratory cleanliness, laboratory equipment calibration, and records. Support internal and external audits by providing accurate laboratory documentation. Maintain sample retention and traceability in accordance with quality requirements. Follow laboratory safety procedures for chemical handling, storage, and disposal. Support Quality Engineer in developing Quality Control Plans and applying quality tools. Support the implementation of quality improvement and operational plans. Provide support to production operator in demonstrating correct test inspection. Perform other quality-related duties as assigned. EXPECTED RESULTS: Improvements to product quality by following Nexans standards Continuous quality improvement using systems and cross functional team collaboration Long term problem solving support, supplementing training, and documentation REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: A graduate of any Engineering course (preferably electrical or electronics) with minimum of 4-5 years relevant experience working in a manufacturing environment ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent Has Six Sigma Green Belt Certification (black belt is an asset) Has ISO 9001 Lead auditor or ISO 9001 Internal auditor certification In-depth knowledge on Quality tools, Statistical Process Control (SPC), cpk, FMEA, PQP, QCP, Fishbone/Ishikawa, 5 Why Analysis, 8D principles, PDCA Strong understanding of CSA and UL standards Strong data analytical skills Excellent communication skills Strong Quality Laboratory background (background in cable industry is an asset) Shows strong initiative and adaptable to change and detail-oriented Has a capability to understand customers' requirements and constraints (internally and externally) Has a capability to objectively assess the degree of compliance to a referential or standard for a process or activity OUR GROWTH CULTURE Among our employees we share the same values- we are pioneers of the energy transition, dedicated to deliver to the highest standards of performance united to achieve our ambitious goal.
