Serve as the single point of contact from the plant towards SLS Project Engineering/ Provide technical support and resolution of conflicts during project manufacturing The CHS Product Engineering team is organized in the CHS Technical department, independent from the CHS manufacturing departments, and serves as the technical authority within the plant Maintains error/issue reporting and supports KPI publishing the Charleston (CHS) plant is responsible for manufacturing and testing of projects within the Subsea and Land Systems (SLS) business group The CHS plant Product Engineering team shall assure that the CHS plant is manufacturing and testing the projects according to agreed internal / external requirements and standards The plant Technical department shall provide technical support in time and with good quality, so the production is able to manufacture orders and meet its obligations Context The Charleston (CHS) plant is responsible for manufacturing and testing of projects within the Subsea and Land Systems (SLS) business group The CHS Product Engineering team is organized in the CHS Technical department, independent from the CHS manufacturing departments, and serves as the technical authority within the plant The CHS plant Product Engineering team shall assure that the CHS plant is manufacturing and testing the projects according to agreed internal / external requirements and standards The plant Technical department shall provide technical support in time and with good quality, so the production is able to manufacture orders and meet its obligations The plant Technical department is responsible for continuous technical improvements and developments Purpose Be responsible for the relevant product segment in the plant Serve as the single point of contact from the plant towards SLS Project Engineering Provide technical support and resolution of conflicts during project manufacturing The position may require international travel for training and/or support of customer activities Area of Responsibility Comply with company standards for safety, environment, and health Follow and abide by the Nexans Code of Ethics and Business Conduct standards Support all phases of the product lifecycle, interfacing with the global technical, commercial, and project teams as required Review technical documents for commercial bids and provide input on plant capabilities and qualifications Calculate the local manufacturing cost of subsea and land projects Review applicable technical documentation following project award (i.e. cross section design, Test Procedures – Routine Testing and FAT, Internal Technical Description, Inspection and Test Plan) Responsible for and ensure that the product is manufactured / delivered according to requirements Calculate optimal production plan to meet project requirements according to the process capabilities Prepare, release, and maintain revision control of technical specifications for manufacturing Host pre-process and process startup meetings. Distribute meeting minutes and follow-up assigned actions Participate in plant production and internal project meetings Support manufacturing variance analysis, root cause investigations, and implementation of improvement activities Perform statistical analyses of production and laboratory test data Prepare and issue technical reports to internal stakeholders Contribute to development of manufacturing capability (ref product road maps, R&D projects) in collaboration with the plant Technical team Participate in internal/external technical meetings, R&D projects, and industry technical conferences on behalf of the plant Competencies and Qualifications BSc or MSc engineering degree from an accredited university Excellent written and verbal communication in the English language Application of standards Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Experience with statistical modeling software (SAS, Minitab, or other) and mathematical modeling software (Mathcad, MATLAB, or other) Experience with AutoCAD and 3D parametric modeling (Inventor, SolidWorks, or other) preferred Proficient in usage of hand tools Able to work at elevated heights Experience in continuous manufacturing preferred Personal: Customer satisfaction mindset Ability to comprehend, apply, and describe complex scientific topics to others Proactive, adaptable, flexible, and resourceful with ability to work independently Teamwork, leadership, persuasion, and synthesis skills Excellent presentation and facilitation skills Systematic approach Able to work in a diverse, multi-cultural environment and manage multiple priorities with several stakeholders Ability to travel to Nexans’ international facilities Core competencies: Take responsibility Global team player High standards in excellence People leadership and initiative Customer and market focus Global vision
