About the role: As a Safety & Radiation Protection Coordinator you will lead radiological protection activities on complex nuclear decommissioning, dismantling, and radioactive waste management projects across Europe. You will provide technical leadership, ensure regulatory compliance, develop radiation protection strategies, and support diverse engineering teams throughout all phases of project execution. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced radiation protection professional who enjoys working in an international environment and is willing to travel to nuclear sites across the EU. You will report to the D&WM Program Manager Eastern Countries and be located in Spain or in Slovakia. Model of work: hybrid. Travels across Europe: 50% of your time. Key Responsibilities: Lead radiological protection programmes for nuclear decommissioning and dismantling projects. Develop and implement ALARA strategies and radiation protection plans. Ensure compliance with Euratom directives, national regulations, and IAEA safety standards. Review radiological work permits and work packages. Plan and oversee radiological monitoring, contamination control, and dosimetry programmes. Provide technical guidance on radioactive waste characterization, segregation, handling, transport, and disposal. Conduct radiological risk assessments and support project safety cases. Work with regulators, clients, and site management regarding radiation protection matters. Lead investigations of radiological events and implement corrective actions. Support engineering teams in designing safe dismantling methodologies. Develop junior radiation protection professionals. Participate in project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation. Support business development activities by providing technical input to proposals and client presentations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related discipline. PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or an equivalent project management certification. Minimum 5 years of project management experience, preferably in nuclear decommissioning, radioactive waste management, energy, infrastructure, or other regulated industries. Demonstrated experience managing mid-sized engineering or industrial projects. Knowledge of project management methodologies, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management. Fluent English (written and spoken); Spanish or Slovak language skills are an advantage. This position may be based in multiple European countries. Compensation is location-specific and will be determined in accordance with local market conditions, internal equity, and the candidate's qualifications.
