About the role: As a Senior Control Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and verification of non‑safety industrial control systems for both greenfield and brownfield projects across the world. This position is intended for an experienced controls engineer with 7–10 years of relevant experience who brings either a hardware‑leaning or software‑leaning background. Responsibilities will align to the individual's technical strengths, while the individual will maintain accountability for system‑level outcomes. You will serve as a senior technical contributor, partnering with software, hardware, testing, cybersecurity, and field engineering teams to deliver reliable, secure, and maintainable control system solutions. A passion for innovation and continuous improvement is essential. You will report to the Control & Information System Engineering manager and work a hybrid role based in Cranberry, PA. Relocation is not available for this role. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement industrial control system solutions in accordance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements. Decompose and interpret system‑level requirements into control system designs within a defined functional scope. Develop control strategies, control logic, cabinet layouts and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) functionality using standard industrial control system platforms and engineering tools. Specify and integrate control system components, which may include controllers, IO, networks, power distribution, and interfaces, depending on project needs. Develop and review engineering documentation, specifications, and procedures supporting the control system lifecycle. Plan and execute verification and validation activities within assigned scope, including type tests, factory acceptance tests, and system‑level tests. Perform and support engineering analyses such as software hazard analyses, FMEAs, susceptibility assessments, and power and heat load calculations as applicable to assigned scope. Serve as a technical point of contact for assigned control system scope on projects. Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical review support to more junior roles within the controls discipline. Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical decision‑making within the control systems functional area. We may require up to 25% travel to support customer systems and critical project milestones. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechnical, or Nuclear Engineering 5–10 years of experience in industrial control systems engineering or a closely related field. Demonstrated experience with one or more PLC, DCS, or industrial control system platforms. Depth in either control system hardware design or control software development, including working knowledge of adjacent disciplines. 5+ years of experience contributing to requirements development and participating in verification and validation activities within regulated or quality‑driven environments. Familiarity with industry‑standard engineering documentation such as P&IDs, loop diagrams, system architecture diagrams, and test documentation.
