ABOUT THE JOB Looking for an opportunity to gain experience working in healthcare? This diet technician position is a great entry-level role for anyone currently working towards a degree in the medical field or graduates interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. In this unique role, you will be responsible for duties both in the diet office and formula room. You will acquire experience across the hospital in a variety of settings as you complete tasks in the diet office, main kitchen and formula room. This position requires minimal clinical experience or face-to-face interaction with patients. We look forward to having you join our team! QUALIFICATIONS A minimum of 2 years of related school or work experience is preferred. This position does not require certification. Candidates who are detail-oriented, eager to learn and cooperative team players are encouraged to apply. We will teach you the skills you need to succeed! JOB SUMMARY

• Correct patient menus to comply with diet orders determined by the dietitian in accordance to food allergies, ethnic/cultural issues, food preference, tolerance, and nutritional plan as determined by the dietitian. • Expedites the patient tray line during meal periods to ensure patient meal accuracy and safety. • Delivers accurate and timely meals to the patient according to the prescribed diet order per department standards. • Retrieves full food carts/trucks from the kitchen and delivers to patient floors. • Assist with record keeping of floor stock and patient census. • Records daily temperatures of unit's fridge, freezers, and dish washer. • Accurately prepare and deliver formula and fortifications according to recipes for patients. • Communicate with dietitians and food service staff about patient meal and formula needs • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the on-premises electronic health record system, Meditech Expanse. • Maintains a clean and safe environment to enhance patient satisfaction and a culture of safety.
