Your Impact: 

• Undertake field inspections, safety audits, incident investigations, and hazard identification to inform operational leadership decision making. • Support operational and functional leaders to effectively identify and manage safety risks to eliminate fatalities, injuries, and illnesses.

As Part Of Our Team You Will: 

• Drive health safety and wellbeing programs at the department level to achieve our Always Safe strategy. • Monitor field inspections and safety audits at mine facilities (including crushing unit, milling, tailings storage facility, workshops etc.) to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. • Deliver hands-on safety coaching and training to site personnel, demonstrating standard methodology and proper use of safety equipment, including Pre-task hazard assessment, general risk assessments, Event Reporting and 5 Why investigations. • Execute safety protocols and procedures tailored to on-site conditions, ensuring all staff are trained and compliant with these guidelines. • Collaborate and deliver safety programs such as fatality management and incident management, applying field observations and feedback into program development – Fatality Risk Management (FRM), injury reduction, and health & wellbeing programs. • Support execution of site-based Health and Safety (H&S) plan. • Support and influence site/project frontline Leaders in safe execution of work and engaging workforce to improve H&S. • Coordinate OHS Representative or equivalent programs. • Operationalize Safety management systems e.g., change management. • Support Level of Defense (LoD) 1 assurance programs for H&S standards and processes.

Your Training, Skills & Experience Checklist: 
 Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):

• Bachelors’ Degree in Health and Safety or Engineering. • National Examination Board of Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) General Certification in Occupational Health and Safety. • Minimum of Health Safety and Environmental Officer’s Certificate of Competency from the Minerals Commission of Ghana. • Class B Ghanaian Driver’s License. Experience:

• Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ working experience as a Health and Safety Professional. Additional Knowledge:

• Thorough knowledge of relevant local Health and Safety legislative requirements. • Sound understanding of Safety Management systems. • Sound knowledge and experience of risk management and loss prevention processes. • Relevant regulations and compliance requirements. • Communication and Influencing skills. • Health & Safety Investigation processes. • Risk assessment processes. • Change Management fundamentals. Technical Skills:

• Competent proficiency in implementing health & safety systems. • Foundational proficiency in managing and applying operational risk management processes. • Competent proficiency in implementing health & safety standards, best-fit practices, monitoring processes, regulatory compliance. • Foundational level of proficiency in project management. • Foundational proficiency in analysis of data to monitor and predict performance. • Foundational commercial skills: forecasting, planning, analysis, reporting and communicating results. Social Process Skills: Self-awareness:

• Understand own behaviour and is aware of the impact on others. • Adapt their own behaviour where necessary in order to get a productive outcome for the wider team. Team process:
