Band 4 Speech and Language Therapy Assistant
This is a part-time post for 19.5 hours per week.
We are excited to advertise this Band 4 part-time Speech and Language Therapy Assistant post at the Royal Berkshire Foundation Trust (RBFT).
The post holder will be a key member of the Neuro SLT team, providing input to the Acute Stroke Unit (ASU) and Neuro Rehab Unit (NRU) as required, whilst also contributing to the wider SLT service at the Royal Berkshire Hospital (RBH).You will be joining a team of 21 people, comprising of SLTs, SLT assistants, an SLT apprentice and an administrator.
Main duties of the job
This post is based at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading. The post holder will be participating in:
Contributing to the neuro inpatient caseload, delivering therapy plans to service users and their families. Delivering group therapy where appropriate. Working as part of a team. Supporting with development of resources for use with service users. Contribution to data collection and recording, to support with service delivery and outcomes.

Education and qualifications Essential
Good standard of spoken and written English A levels or equivalent
Desirable
Level 5 qualification or equivalent CPD portfolio - evidence of attendance at short courses, formal training
Experience Essential
Basic understanding of the role of SLT in Acute Neuro setting
Desirable
2 years experience as an SLTA
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Essential
Excellent communication skills Ability to organise workload and manage time Ability to be a good team member
Desirable
Knowledge of standards of record keeping
