Job summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a enthusiastic oncology nurse to join the Breast CNS team as a Metastatic Breast CNS

You will receive excellent training and development, as well as support from the breast team. This is an ideal opportunity to progress within your profession and be fully supported by the Cancer divisions and St Barts site as a whole.

Main duties of the job

To provide the highest standard of individualised and holistic patient care to cancer patients in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.

To act as a source of information for patients and their families

To advocate for patients within the Breast MDT

To provide high quality nursing care to patients and their families, in accordance with agreed policies

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Minimum 5 years post registration experience in a Cancer related area

Desirable

Good working knowledge of Breast Cancer and the treatment pathway which patients follow

Skills Essential

Advanced Communication Skills Ability to work alone and under pressure Ability to manage complex situations both clinically and in terms of administration Presentation Skills (often have to present at MDT)

Desirable

Understanding of management of data

Knowledge Essential

Proven clinical skills & sound knowledge base in Breast Oncology and Knowledge of Cancer patient Experience and ideas of how Barts Health can improve position Ist Level Breast Cancer Course

Physical Assessment Course Nurse Prescribing Course Chemotherapy Course

Qualifications Essential

Registered Nurse Degree Qualification in Breast Cancer Related topic. Nurse education qualification

Desirable

Masters qualification or evidence of work at masters level.
