Job summary

Middle Grade Doctor -- Paediatric Critical Care Unit (6-Month Fixed Term)

We are pleased to invite applications for a 6-month post within our busy and highly regarded Paediatric Critical Care Unit, starting upon availability)

This role is ideal for motivated middle grade doctors who have completed their membership exams or equivalent (MRCPCH, Primary FRCA, or EPIC Diploma).

You will join a supportive multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality care across a 10-bedded PICU.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:o Participation in morning ward rounds and evening handover roundso Day-to-day care of patients requiring advanced respiratory support, including CPAP (EME and hood), BiPAP, and mechanical ventilation (HFOV and nitric oxide)o Assessment of children in A&E and on paediatric wards prior to transfer to PICUo Effective liaison with the wider multi-professional team and external agencieso PICANET data entry and completion of discharge summariesThis post offers an excellent opportunity to consolidate your critical care skills, gain valuable experience in advanced respiratory support, and work within a friendly, experienced team

Previous experience in Paediatric Intensive Care

Experience Essential

Previous experience in Paediatrics/Neonates/Paediatric or Adult Anaesthesia/Emergency Medicine

Knowledge Essential

For paediatric trainees: at least 3 years' experience working in Paediatrics

Skills Desirable

Evidence of Research Activity/Publications Evidence of teaching experience to Undergraduates Proficiency in basic paediatric procedures

Other Essential

Eligible for full GMC Registration Good spoken & written English

Desirable

Possession of MRCPCH/ Primary FRCA or equivalent/ EPIC Diploma Advanced Paediatric Life Support Course
