Deckhand/Onboard mechanic @ Nigerdock

The Role

The deckhand/onboard mechanic will be responsible for:

· Grease and clean machinery

· Perform simple maintenance tasks

· Load and unload cargo

· Perform other tasks as instructed by the captain

Responsibilities

· Assist the captain in safe vessel operations

· Enforce safety protocols, including life jackets

· Ensure safety of passengers

· Coordinate safe loading and offloading of cargos

· Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks

· Monitor engine performance and report abnormalities immediately

Requirements

· Minimum secondary school certificate

· Valid STCW and MEA certificate

· 1-3 years’ experience in marine operations preferred

· Proven skills in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining marine engines

· Basic first aid and fire safety training is an advantage

· Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks

· Good communication and teamwork skills.
