About this role

The Opportunity:

Role requires working on SAP S/4HANA Controlling (CO) and Management Accounting activities within the Controlling Capability Center supporting the global Finance & Controlling organization. The role involves partnering with Global Functions, Business Units, and Hitachi Energy's central organization to drive process harmonization, financial planning, costing, profitability analysis, and standardization of Controlling processes across 60+ countries operating on a unified S/4HANA ERP platform.

How you'll make an impact:

Perform SAP S/4HANA Controlling (CO) activities supporting global Finance & Controlling operations.

Leverage strong SAP FI/CO expertise to support management accounting and controlling processes.

Map business processes with a focus on Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Record-to-Report (R2R) activities.

Develop and maintain procedures, process guidelines, playbooks, and training materials for Controlling processes.

Support Global Functions and Business Units in implementing new initiatives and process improvements.

Maintain Controlling master data including Activity Types and Activity Rates.

Perform Result Analysis (RA) runs and evaluate impacts on Revenue, COGS, and Inventory.

Analyze Result Analysis outputs for Sales Orders, Service Orders, and Project (WBS) structures.

Understand and assess Material Ledger impacts on Inventory Valuation and Result Analysis.

Execute periodic Controlling activities and support month-end and year-end closing processes.

Perform Product Costing and Standard Costing activities within manufacturing environments.

Manage Purchase Info Records, Cost Object Controlling, and Profit Center Accounting processes.

Configure and maintain Assessment Cycles, Distribution Cycles, and CO-PA cycles.

Perform Value Flow Analysis and Margin Reporting to support business decision-making.

Review and analyze overhead under-absorption and over-absorption, identifying root causes and corrective actions.

Maintain Activity Rates and evaluate their impact on product costing and inventory valuation.

Assess run-organization requirements and support operational excellence initiatives.

Ensure adherence to Internal Controls, compliance policies, and governance requirements.

Drive automation initiatives to improve efficiency, productivity, and reporting accuracy.

Develop and maintain knowledge repositories, process documentation, and playbooks.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and report standardization across countries, divisions, and business units.

Collaborate with stakeholders across global functions and diverse international teams.

Support continuous improvement initiatives while meeting Controlling Capability Center KPIs.

Optimize productivity through automation, elimination of duplications, and efficient information coordination.

Your background:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or related field with CA / CMA / CA Inter / CMA Inter / M.Com qualification.

up to 2 years of experience in SAP S/4HANA Controlling, Cost Accounting, Management Accounting, or Financial Controlling functions.

Strong hands-on experience in SAP FI/CO modules is mandatory.

Sound knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Controlling model and Management Accounting processes.

Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), budgeting, costing, and controlling activities.

Hands-on exposure to Result Analysis (RA), Product Costing, Cost Object Controlling, and Profit Center Accounting.

Strong understanding of Material Ledger, Inventory Valuation, and Margin Analysis concepts.

Experience in configuring and managing Assessment Cycles, Distribution Cycles, and CO-PA processes.

Manufacturing industry experience and exposure to project-based environments preferred.

Experience in Record-to-Report (R2R) processes is an advantage.

Working knowledge of SAP modules including Sales & Distribution (SD), Production Planning (PP), Project Systems (PS), and Material Management (MM).

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
