About the Role Our Research & Innovation (R&I – Coatis) team, composed of 28 professionals dedicated to technological development and innovation, is integrated within the Coatis GBU and focuses on working across functions to drive innovation and deliver business results in collaboration with different areas of the organization. As a Process Engineer in Research, Innovation & Scale Up you will work on the development of new technologies and chemical processes, conduct laboratory experimentation, pilot plant and industrial scale-up activities, and manage innovation projects to support the business growth and competitiveness strategy. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative solutions throughout the entire technology maturity lifecycle and make a positive impact on value creation, sustainability, and the competitive differentiation of the Coatis GBU. You will be accountable for: Lead Research & Innovation projects aligned with business and technology strategy, from concept through industrial implementation. Design, execute, and analyze laboratory, pilot plant, and scale-up experiments to develop and optimize chemical processes and technologies. Apply process modeling, simulation, statistical analysis, and Design of Experiments (DoE) to accelerate development and support data-driven decisions. Manage innovation projects, technology transfer, intellectual property, and stakeholder communication while monitoring scientific and industry trends. Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and operational standards, while driving continuous improvement in laboratory and pilot facilities. We offer a permanent contract based on a hybrid working model, with 1-2 days per week of remote work and the remainder onsite, depending on project and operational requirements. About you Relevant education degree in Chemical Engineering. Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemical Processes is a plus. Relevant work experience (2-3 years) in Research & Development, Research & Innovation, or Process Engineering within the chemical industry or related sectors. Competencies: Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of Organic Chemistry, Process Engineering, Unit Operations, Chemical Reactions, and Kinetics, with hands-on experience in chemical synthesis, experimental development, and chemical process optimization. Process Development & Scale-Up: Experience in the design, development, modeling, simulation, optimization, and scale-up of chemical processes, including testing and validation in pilot plants. Data Analysis & Languages: Knowledge of statistical tools applied to process development, data analysis, and DOE (Design of Experiments, considered a plus), as well as advanced English proficiency for preparing technical reports and delivering presentations. About the pay Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. The base pay expected for this role is: R$ 120.000 - R$ 150.000 per year in Brazil with 13o salary and hazardous pay included. Your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
