UC Health is an EEO Employer. The Anesthesia Technician, under general supervision, maintains/services anesthesia equipment and maintains supply inventory. The Anesthesia Technician provides assistance to Anesthesia Providers with supplies set-up.
PATIENT POPULATION - (CLINICAL ONLY): Engages in population appropriate communication. Has knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks. Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment. Involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient. Identifies any physical limitations of the patient and deploys intervention when necessary. Recognizes and responds appropriately to patients/families with behavioral health problems. Interprets population related data and plans care appropriately. Identifies and responds appropriately to different needs resulting from, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious / cultural norms. Performs treatments, administers medication or operates equipment safely. Recognizes and responds to signs/symptoms of abuse or neglect. Operations: Responsible for maintenance of anesthesia equipment, to include but not limit to: anesthesia machine, monitoring equipment, blood/fluid warmers, anesthesia cart Assist with anesthesia supplies set-up for beginning of the day and between cases Assist with monitoring lines supplies set-up Assist with regional block supplies set-up Clean and disinfect/sterilize appropriate anesthesia scopes and/or reusable equipment Maintains and stocks anesthesia supply inventory Restocks anesthesia carts between cases and end of shift Observe environmental safety and infection control procedures as outlined in departmental and hospital policies Perform related duties based on department need Customer Service: Maintains collaborative relationship with anesthesia providers Acts as a team player with surgical team Maintains collaborative relationship with other departments, i.e. Materials Management, Sterile Processing Patient Safety: Assists with patient care during regional block insertion, monitoring lines and general anesthesia induction under the direction of the anesthesia provider and/or RN Communicates patient needs to appropriate health care provider Assists surgical team and anesthesia provides with maintenance of sterile surgical fields Utilizes sterile technique when appropriate
Minimum Required: High school diploma . Preferred: Healthcare training/education | Preferred: certification as Anesthesia Technician | 1 year Anesthesia Technician experience; will accept 3 healthcare background, i.e., Patient Care Assistant.
