Market Performance Associate - Ocean Gateway Description:

As the Market Performance Associate for Ocean Gateway, you will be responsible for the ground performance strategy and planning within your assigned markets. Your main objective is to achieve over 95% destination On-Time Performance (OTP) by proactively managing all operational elements, including terminals, Shipping Line (SSL) carriers, rail providers, warehouses, and truckers, to consistently meet our Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

A key part of this role involves driving exceptional vendor performance. You will coach vendors, serve as their primary escalation point, and act as a technical support liaison. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Trucking Procurement team to adjust volume allocations and provide insights into trucking market needs, which will help prioritize onboarding efforts. Working within Ocean Gateway, you will maintain close ties with your Gateway Execution peers, gathering crucial feedback directly from the operators who handle the containers.

You will

Develop and own vendor relationships, ensuring we have drayage partners in place that will support growth and deliver a best-in-class service for our customers. Develop dashboards to measure trucking SLAs: Work cross functionally with business leads to help them set and achieve key results. Manage performance reporting at a market and vendor level, including inbound forecasting, milestone reporting, timely pickup and delivery. Provide Product Support to drayage carriers by onboarding, training and continuously coaching dispatchers on Transmission. Trucker Assignment Inputs: Provide detailed feedback and recommendations to ensure drayage market allocations leverage top performing carriers. Oversee successful implementation of new FCL/LCL destination business, by way of proper carrier selection, SOP development, and intimate shipment monitoring. Navigate service escalations alongside Gateway Operator peers to keep freight moving and deliver a positive client experience.

You should have

BA/BS degree and/or 2+ years of experience in relevant freight forwarding, transportation or supply chain rolesExcellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills In depth knowledge of product and technology within the industry, experience building product and partnering with product teams to deliver innovative and unique solutions Industry expert for knowledge on ground transportation, experience with regards to imports and/or exports from a sales, operational and procurement perspective. Experience building and maintaining strong relationships and partnerships with vendors. Analytical skills and metric / data based approach to solving problems, drives organization by numbers/metrics. Strong analytical background and knowledge of analytical tools (Excel, etc) Strategic vision and ground floor execution Experience with SQL, Looker, and Snowflake, including data manipulation and dashboard/report building.
