Job summary
To assist in the work of the Financial Accounts and Treasury function including, reconciling and updating control accounts monthly and assisting in the production of the annual financial returns and accounts; cash accounting; maintaining cash book, cash flow and general cash management duties. The postholder will develop as a professional accountant through academic study and practical experience.
Main duties of the job
As an Financial Accountant, you will:
Preparing and submitting Tax, N.I. and Superannuation returns on time and accurately on a monthly basis Preparing VAT returns and reconciling on a monthly basis Ensure payroll deductions for court orders, trade unions, AVC and accommodation are made appropriately and payment made to the relevant organisations Reconciliation of salary overpayments and net pay on a monthly basis To provide cover for the Income and working capital accountant, Assistant Treasury accountant or Deputy Financial Controller in their absence To keep adequate records and back up details of monthly financial returns and reconciliations performed in your area of responsibility, to assist in performance of Internal and External Audit reviews.

Job description Job responsibilities
Attending annual stock takes as the Financial Accounts reviewer to ensure the financial control guidelines are followed, as part of the Annual Accounts production routine Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures specific to the Treasury and Cashiering function. Entering financial transaction data into the Trust computerised financial ledger system (eFinancials) To study for and make progress towards relevant professional examinations. To develop a rounded view of the accounting function by undertaking secondments and working in other areas. Any other duties as required by the Deputy Financial Controller or Financial Controller.
