About this role

Job Title: Maintenance TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing repair and maintenance on production equipment, CNC machinery, and facility systems within a plant environment. This role ensures that equipment operates safely and efficiently while supporting the upkeep of the building and grounds. Responsibilities • Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair on plant equipment, including CNC machines. • Troubleshoot and repair issues involving 480V, 220V, and 120V electrical systems. • Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints to diagnose and resolve equipment problems. • Conduct preventive maintenance on machinery and facility systems to minimize downtime. • Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in plant operations. • Perform mechanical maintenance and repair tasks to keep equipment running efficiently. • Support building and grounds maintenance to ensure a clean, safe, and functional facility. • Use electrical troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes of equipment failures. • Assist with CNC maintenance activities to ensure proper operation and reliability. • Collaborate with team members and other departments to prioritize and complete maintenance work orders. Essential Skills • Minimum of 3 years of electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair experience in an industrial or plant setting. • Strong electrical skills working with 480V, 220V, and 120V systems. • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics. • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repair of production equipment. • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics in a maintenance context. • Experience performing preventive maintenance on machinery and facility systems. • Proficiency in mechanical maintenance and repair tasks. • Ability to use tools and equipment commonly required for maintenance technician work. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in diagnosing equipment issues. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Direct experience repairing and maintaining CNC machines. • Welding and fabrication skills to support repairs and modifications. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints in addition to electrical schematics. • Experience with electrical troubleshooting on complex industrial equipment. • Familiarity with maintenance best practices in a manufacturing or plant environment. Work EnvironmentThis role operates primarily on third shift, working from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., with initial training provided on first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The first day begins at 8:00 a.m. Work is performed in a plant environment that includes CNC machinery, electrical systems, and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. The position involves hands-on maintenance tasks in an industrial setting, requiring comfort around production equipment and adherence to safety procedures. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Haven, MI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
