Job Title: Maintenance Technician IIIPay up to 45 per hour 1st shift Job DescriptionThe Maintenance Technician III supports and maintains production equipment, facility systems, and automation controls within a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on advanced troubleshooting of PLC-controlled machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and mechanical components to minimize downtime, improve equipment reliability, and drive continuous improvement across the facility.Responsibilities
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair manufacturing equipment, machinery, and automated systems to ensure reliable operation. • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment to reduce unplanned downtime. • Work extensively with PLC-controlled equipment, including troubleshooting inputs, outputs, sensors, relays, and communication faults. • Maintain and repair hydraulic systems, including valves, pumps, cylinders, regulators, and related components. • Maintain and repair pneumatic systems, including valves, cylinders, regulators, compressors, and associated controls. • Troubleshoot electrical systems such as motors, drives, VFDs, sensors, control panels, and power distribution systems. • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals to support maintenance and repair activities. • Support equipment installation, upgrades, modifications, and capital projects to enhance production capabilities. • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and restore operations quickly to minimize production downtime. • Analyze recurring equipment failures, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to improve reliability. • Train and mentor junior maintenance technicians on troubleshooting techniques, maintenance best practices, and safe work procedures. • Ensure strict compliance with all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. • Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance records using CMMS or other maintenance tracking systems. • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and optimize equipment performance. Essential Skills
• Minimum of 6+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment. • Strong experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment, including platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar systems. • Advanced knowledge of hydraulics, including operation and maintenance of valves, pumps, and cylinders. • Advanced knowledge of pneumatics, including regulators, cylinders, and compressor systems. • Advanced knowledge of electrical systems, including motors, drives, VFDs, sensors, control panels, and power distribution. • Advanced mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical systems and components. • Hands-on experience with conveyors and automated equipment in a production setting. • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation. • Proficiency using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, amp meters, and other electrical and mechanical troubleshooting equipment. • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills for complex equipment and system issues. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple maintenance tasks and priorities. • Experience working within GMP or similar structured maintenance and facility standards. • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for tracking work orders and maintenance history. • Multi-craft maintenance capability across electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC troubleshooting. • Demonstrated ability to support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and performance. • Experience participating in equipment installations, upgrades, and capital projects in a manufacturing environment. • Comfort mentoring and providing guidance to less experienced technicians to build team capability. • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with production, engineering, and safety teams. • High attention to detail in documenting maintenance activities and following established procedures. The position follows a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You will regularly use diagnostic tools such as multimeters and amp meters, work with PLC-controlled machinery, and perform hands-on maintenance on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in an industrial setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fayetteville, GA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
