Job Title: CNC Lathe MachinistJob DescriptionThe CNC Lathe Machinist operates and sets up multi-axis lathes and 4–5 axis mills to machine forged and complex aerospace components with precision and consistency. This role focuses on producing high-quality parts using mixed machinery, including advanced multi-axis equipment, while following established machining, programming, and setup procedures.Responsibilities
• Operate multi-axis CNC lathes and 4–5 axis CNC mills to machine forged parts and complex aerospace components to precise specifications. • Perform complete machine setups on lathes and mills, including tooling, workholding, offsets, and program loading. • Run mixed machinery, including 4 and 5 axis mills, lathes, and a 6 axis mill, ensuring safe and efficient operation. • Interpret and follow machining programs, making minor edits as needed to improve quality and efficiency. • Monitor machining processes and inspect parts during and after production to maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards. • Adjust machine parameters, tooling, and setups to optimize cycle times and part quality. • Troubleshoot machining issues and collaborate with programming or engineering teams when necessary. • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines. • Work effectively within the assigned shift schedule, including swing shift hours, while meeting production targets. • Document work performed and follow established workflows and production processes for traceability and consistency. Essential Skills
• Hands-on experience operating multi-axis CNC lathes. • Proficiency working with 4–5 axis CNC mills. • Ability to perform setups on CNC lathes and mills, including tooling and workholding. • Knowledge of machining processes for forged parts and complex aerospace components. • Experience reading and running CNC programs, with the ability to make basic adjustments. • Strong understanding of machining principles, tolerances, and quality requirements. • Capability to work scheduled swing shifts: Monday–Thursday 3:15 p.m.–1:45 a.m. or Friday–Sunday 5:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with mixed machinery environments that include lathes, 4 and 5 axis mills, and a 6 axis mill. • Backgrounds in aerospace machining or similar high-precision manufacturing settings. • Familiarity with advanced multi-axis machining techniques and workflows. • Comfort working with complex part geometries and challenging materials. Available shift schedules include Monday–Thursday from 3:15 p.m. to 1:45 a.m. and Friday–Sunday from 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with swing shift differentials applied. The environment is fast-paced and focused on precision manufacturing, with standard industrial shop attire appropriate for working around CNC machinery. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fife, WA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
