Job Title: Maintenance Technician II – Mechanical & RoboticsJob DescriptionThe Maintenance Technician II supports operations by repairing, maintaining, and improving material handling equipment and pneumatic systems in a fast-paced distribution environment. In this role, you install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and conveyor equipment, perform preventive and predictive maintenance, and help ensure the reliability and safety of automation systems across the facility. You also mentor junior technicians and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and strong safety practices. Responsibilities • Repair and maintain material handling equipment (MHE) and pneumatic systems to ensure consistent and reliable operation. • Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment, including conveyor systems and related controls. • Perform predictive and preventive maintenance procedures on mechanical and automation equipment to minimize downtime. • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with material handling equipment and automation systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions. • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to support installation, maintenance, and repair activities. • Apply and demonstrate established safety standards in all maintenance tasks and promote a safe working environment. • Use computers and Microsoft Office applications to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and communicate with the team. • Mentor and support junior technicians by sharing knowledge, demonstrating best practices, and assisting with complex repairs. • Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays, to support operational needs and respond to equipment issues. • Collaborate with operations and other maintenance team members to prioritize work, improve equipment performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Skills • At least 1 year of experience working with computers and Microsoft Office products and applications. • At least 2 years of experience conducting predictive and preventive maintenance procedures. • At least 2 years of experience repairing material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, or related mechanical/controls equipment. • At least 2 years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics. • At least 2 years of experience consistently applying and demonstrating safety standards in a maintenance or industrial environment. • At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting and performing diagnostics on material handling equipment (MHE). • Hands-on mechanical skills in repair and maintenance of industrial or automation equipment. • Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics in an industrial or distribution setting. • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays, as needed. • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with automation systems and conveyor maintenance in a distribution or manufacturing environment. • Familiarity with control systems associated with material handling and automated equipment. • Ability to mentor and guide junior technicians, sharing technical knowledge and best practices. • Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues. • Comfort using Microsoft Office and other computer-based tools for documentation and communication. • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to equipment reliability and workplace safety. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a high-volume, automated distribution facility with extensive material handling and conveyor systems. You work around mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control equipment, supporting operations that run across multiple shifts. The position requires the ability to move items weighing up to 49 pounds and to stand and walk for shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation. You use computers and Microsoft Office applications to manage maintenance tasks and documentation. Safety is a central focus in the work environment, and you are provided with lightweight fire-resistant daily wear and composite toe safety shoes as part of the standard attire. The schedule is flexible and may include weekends, nights, and holidays to meet operational needs. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaumont, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
