Job Title: Brake Press OperatorJob DescriptionAs a Brake Press Operator, you will review and follow blueprints, work orders, tooling instructions, or other written specifications to understand the machining characteristics of various metals. You will determine processing specifications such as materials, forms, sizes, surface conditions, material defects dimensions, tolerances, and operational sequences, ensuring the correct material for the job is used according to work orders. Responsibilities • Coordinate and execute material handling. • Position work pieces for processing, potentially operating a combination of different machines. • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and material onto the machine. • Select and monitor speeds, feeds, controls, and tooling. • Determine operations sequence for various material and operating conditions. • Create complicated or irregularly shaped parts or sections per established drawings, requiring careful blocking and clamping to avoid springing or distortion. • Operate a variety of machines during processing as required based on workload or business needs. • Measure and examine pieces using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, scales, and squares to ensure conformance to work order specifications. • Perform 'In Process' and 'Finished Product' quality control inspections. Essential Skills • Proficiency in press brake and machine operation. • Experience in fabrication and machine operating. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Valid Driver’s License. • Willingness and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and personal capacity profile. • Adequate manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limbed coordination. • 0-5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions. • Basic measurement skills and arithmetic skills for calculations and conversions. • Basic computer proficiency and working knowledge of software applications.
