MIG Welder/MillwrightJob DescriptionThis role focuses on agricultural construction, de-construction, and rigging within processing plants, ethanol facilities, and grain elevators. The millwright assembles, installs, and dismantles grain equipment, elevators, and conveying systems, working with flow meters, gears, motors, bearings, bagging systems, welding, and iron work. Responsibilities

• Assemble, erect, and install steel structures and components required for conveying and grain handling equipment. • Interpret and work from shop drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate installation and alignment of machinery and systems. • Perform non-critical welding and basic fabrication tasks to support installation, repair, and modification of equipment. • Establish equipment and machinery center lines and elevations to meet project specifications and operational requirements. • Execute complex rigging operations to safely move, position, and install equipment and components inside plants and industrial facilities. • Complete precision installation of equipment, machinery, and components, including anchoring, leveling, and aligning systems. • Install, dismantle, and maintain conveyor systems, grain elevators, and related conveying equipment in agricultural and industrial settings. • Use power tools and hand tools to perform mechanical assembly, adjustments, repairs, and preventive maintenance on equipment. • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and piping issues on conveying and processing systems and perform necessary repairs. • Perform job site welding and fabrication, including stick, MIG, and TIG welding, as required by project needs. • Assist with pipe fitting and piping installation associated with conveying and processing equipment. • Follow safety procedures and guidelines while working at heights, inside plants, and in outdoor environments. • Collaborate with a small on-site crew, including working under the direction of a foreman or superintendent, to complete projects efficiently. • Adapt to varying project schedules and demands, including extended workdays and changing site conditions. • Participate in preventive maintenance activities to keep equipment operating reliably and reduce downtime. Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience with mechanical installation, repair, and maintenance of industrial equipment. • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints for equipment installation and alignment. • Proficiency using power tools and hand tools for construction, assembly, and maintenance tasks. • Experience with rigging and safely moving equipment inside plants or industrial facilities. • Basic welding skills, including stick and MIG welding, for non-critical welds and fabrication tasks. • Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques for mechanical, hydraulic, and piping systems. • Ability to work safely from heights and in varied industrial environments. • Willingness and ability to travel 100% of the time on a 10 days on, 4 days off schedule. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• At least 6 months of job site welding or fabrication experience is preferred. • Experience working in agricultural processing plants, ethanol plants, or grain elevators. • Exposure to hydraulics, piping, pipe fitting, and preventive maintenance activities. • Experience with TIG welding and MIG welding is an advantage. • Ability to perform troubleshooting and repair on a variety of industrial and conveying systems. • Comfort working both indoors and outdoors in changing weather and site conditions. • Ability to work effectively within a crew of 4–5 people under the guidance of a foreman or superintendent. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of CEDAR RAPIDS, IA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
