As our Refrigeration Supervisor, you'll lead approximately 10 technicians across three shifts supporting our Main and North facilities. This isn't a desk-only supervisor position. You'll stay connected to the floor, coach technicians, help prioritize work, and provide leadership when critical refrigeration issues arise.
What You'll Own
• Lead, coach, and develop a refrigeration team spanning three shifts.
• Coordinate daily priorities, preventive maintenance, shift handoffs, and technician workload.
• Support the reliability of hundreds of refrigeration units across two facilities.
• Lead the response to refrigeration issues by assessing the situation, deploying the right technical resources, and determining when additional support is needed.
• Build the capabilities of newer technicians while effectively partnering with highly experienced team members.
• Maintain a strong focus on safe execution, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement.
What Success Looks Like
• Strong communication and alignment between the superintendent and technician team.
• Effective preventive maintenance and reliable operation of refrigeration equipment and compressor rooms.
• Technicians are productive, supported, and developing their technical capabilities.
• Routine operating issues are handled with appropriate autonomy, while critical problems are quickly recognized and escalated.
• You establish credibility as a supervisor who understands the work and is willing to be present on the floor.
You May Be a Strong Fit If You Have
• Experience with industrial refrigeration, including exposure to or training in ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Experience leading people or crews—this could be as a Supervisor, Team Lead, Lead Technician, Foreman, or similar leadership role.
• The technical foundation to understand refrigeration issues, ask the right questions, and help determine the appropriate next steps.
• A hands-on leadership approach and comfort spending significant time in an active manufacturing environment.
• Food manufacturing experience is not required. Experience from cold storage, manufacturing, production, or another industrial environment with comparable refrigeration systems may translate well.
• Experience with Frick compressors, plumbing, fire suppression systems, or additional ammonia/refrigeration certifications is a plus.
