About this role

Position: Preschool Program - Substitute Teacher Location: Multiple Locations Reports To: Principal/Preschool Coordinator Work Year: School Year Only Work Schedule: This position will work up to 28 hours per week (Monday - Thursday) Wage: $18.00 per hour (This a non-union position and is paid on on an hourly basis.) Position Summary Substitute teachers provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for four-year-old preschool children in the absence of the lead or assistant teacher. The preschool substitute teacher will be assigned to multiple building locations in the District and is responsible for covering the absences of program staff in assigned buildings. GSRP substitute staff will report to a designated location each day and receieve their assignments. Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred.

• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is desirable.

• Ability to meet comprehensive Child Care Background Check Requirements which includes fingerprinting is required.

• Drug testing is required

• Ability to travel between buildings as needed.

• Certification in CPR and First Aid is required and training will be provided.

Essential Functions and Primary Responsibilities

• Create a warm, engaging classroom experience by leading children in hands-on learning activities that encourage confidence and school readiness.

• Follow daily schedules and implement lesson plans outlined by the regular lead or associate teacher.

• Support social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through hands-on, research-based preschool activities.

• Manage classroom behavior using positive guidance strategies.

• Ensure constant supervision and safety of preschool children indoors and outdoors.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming learning environment.

• Maintain confidentiality.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
