Bullitt County Public Schools is requesting a waiver to fill this position before the standard 15-day posting period to ensure we are fully staffed for the upcoming school year. Mt. Washington Elementary is seeking a Special Education Instructional Health Assistant. This individual will support students receiving special education services in a highly structured resource classroom and within the general education setting. As part of a collaborative, high-functioning team, the candidate will work closely with teachers and instructional assistants to support student learning and success. Responsibilities may also include assisting with students' healthcare and toileting needs during the school day in accordance with state laws and district regulations. The ideal candidate must be committed to contributing to a positive school culture where every student is cared for, valued, and provided with the support needed to learn and grow. Position Details Hours: 6.5 hours per day (plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch) Contract Length: 183 days per year

• 170 student instructional days

• 4 holidays

• 7 planning days

• 2 extended days

Contract Adjustments: Contracted days will be prorated based on the start date Employment Status: Full-time with benefits Employment Type: 10-month employee on the classified salary schedule. Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Must meet one of the following:

• 48 college semester hours

• An Associate's Degree OR

• High school diploma plus a passing score on the Paraeducator Assessment Exam.

• Documentation: Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire.

Compensation & Experience Credit 2026-2027 pay scale Step 0: $16.46 Step 10: $20.26 We value experience! Previous experience working with students, intervention systems, and small-group instruction is strongly desired.

• Experience Credit: New employees may transfer up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience.

• Note: It is the employee's responsibility to submit the BCPS Verification of Experience form to previous employers.

Payroll Note: While this is an hourly position, the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June. Salary Formula: Hours per day × Hourly rate = Daily rate Daily rate × Contracted days = Annual salary.
